Multi Project Planner – Plan and Organize Projects
Having to plan just one project could turn out to be a bad dream. Having to plan a multitude of projects can turn out to be a full-blown nightmare – but only if you are not using the right piece of software to help you out. By using an Adaptive Planning Tools-developed application called Multi Project Planner (download weighs in at about 100MB) you can easily manage all your projects.
What Multi Project Planner does is provide a vast array of tools to the people that need to manage complex projects. Pretty much anything you would ever need to oversee a project, Multi Project Planner has it.
As previously mentioned, the download weighs in at about 100MB. This could be a problem for the user that has a sluggish internet connection. He may want to use this time to perhaps have a sandwich and a cup of coffee, as the download may take a while. On a high-speed internet connection the download should not take too long.
Once downloaded and installed, Multi Project Planner provides a clean and useful interface (UI). The novice computer user when seeing the UI may feel overwhelmed by the multitude of bits and pieces the project manager has to offer. Once you get to grips with how Multi Project Planner works, you can come up with multicolored charts that are readable and that present each and every aspect of a project – this includes the daily responsibilities of the people involved in the project, the man hours that will go into this project, and even the status of concurrent tasks.
One will grow to love all the functionality this piece of software has to offer – as long as he is willing to put in the time to learn how it works. That’s the only drawback. The fact that you have to spend a lot of time figuring out what everything does, and the fact that you have to spend a lot of time creating the charts (upside is that the chart representing the global plan, only has to be build once) may push people away from this application. This is a shame, because it is a properly powerful program to help you keep track of your projects.
In the hands of an experienced and patient user that pays attention to details, Multi Project Planner is a tool that yields high quality results. Definitely a valuable addition to the arsenal of a project manager.
